Sherlock's Tax Service prepares personal T1 returns for people across Selkirk and the surrounding communities: employees, retirees, students, newcomers to Canada, and families claiming child care, medical or tuition amounts. Every return is reviewed line by line before it is filed, so the credits you qualify for are the credits you get.

Personal income tax returns: questions we get asked

What do I need to bring?
Your slips (T4, T4A, T5, T3, T2202, RRSP receipts), last year's notice of assessment, receipts for medical, child care, donations and moving, and a void cheque for direct deposit. The What to Bring page has the full list.
How long does it take?
Most personal returns are prepared and filed in one appointment. Refunds by direct deposit usually arrive in eight to fourteen business days.
Can you file for my spouse at the same time?
Yes. Filing together lets us optimize credits like medical expenses and donations across both returns.
Do you handle returns for seniors?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. Pension income splitting, the age amount, medical expenses and the Manitoba credits are all reviewed on every senior's return.
